E-resources


E-resources of the Library can be accessed from any location: within the Library, from the UWM network and from computers at home.
 
Access to e-resources is granted to authorized users (who have the library card).
 
Users log in with their log-in (ID) and password for the library account.

E-resources include:  

  • Foreign databases of abstracts: Medline, Web of Science Core Collection, SCOPUS;
  • Full-text services (foreign periodical consortia): EBSCOhost, Science Direct, Emerald, ProQuest, SpringerLink, Wiley Online Library;
  • Polish bibliographic databases: Databases of The National Library, AGRO, SIGŻ (Agricultural Bibliographic Information System), the Polish Medical Bibliography, BAZTECH, the Bibliography of Warmia and Mazury;
  • Polish full-text databases: Infor Lex Expert, EMIS Emerging Markets, Legalis (System Informacji Prawnej), LEX, LexPolonica;
  • E-book databases: Knovel, eBook Academic Collection (EBSCOhost), IBUK Libra;
  • Polish e-periodicals;
  • Digital libraries.

Among the abovementioned resources two groups can be distinguished:

  • public access resources (Polish bibliographic databases, digital libraries, Polish and foreign e-periodicals in open access),
  • licensed resources (full-text databases and databases of abstracts, e-periodicals, e-books) subscribed by the University Library and accessible via the university computer network or from home computers after logging in.

 


Special collections


Special collections can be used only on site and they cannot be photocopied.
 
Collections published before 1945 (including old prints), doctoral theses defended at UWM, cartographic resources, iconographic resources, audiovisual resources (vinyl discs, CD, DVD, video cassettes), microfilms and microfiches available in the Department of Special Collections.
 
Standards and publications related to standardization are available at the Information Desk for Standardization.

Patent documents are available in the Centre for Patent Information.
